The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) are two distinct private international non-profit organizations based in Brussels. They are two of the three officially recognized bodies by the European Commission to develop voluntary European Standards (EU Regulation 1025/2012).
They aim to produce high-quality standards for products and services that incorporate quality, safety, environmental, interoperability and accessibility requirements.
In Horizon2020 standardization has been recognized as a valuable tool to contribute to innovation “Contribute to European competitiveness through support to the standardisation process and standards”.
Anticipating the Horizon2020 calls, CEN and CENELEC are hosting a webinar to explain what role European standardization plays and how project proposers can address standardization in proposals.
